Inmemoriam

Rev. Randy Hastings

Nov 11 2009 01:00 PM
On Sunday November 11th, 2009, Reverend Randall (Randy) Hastings passed from our limited world into another world that knows no limits and that is heaven. On Wednesday November 11th, 2009, Reverend Randall (Randy) Hastings passed from our limited world into another world that knows no limits and that is heaven. Reverend Hastings was to take part at the 11-11-11 Ceremony at IMU/and the Self-Health & Awareness Center that evening. He never came to the service and we did worry some. It was not like Randy to miss. The 11-11-11 Service was lovely — Sadly, Randy's friend Sally came later in the evening to inform us Rev. Hastings has passed over at 54 years old, probably of a sudden heart attack and complications from diabetes.
Reverend Hastings created the Shamanism Program at IMU, a new university that is just now being launched and is based in Vienna. But Randy has been a mover and shaker in all spiritual matters in the Parkersburg-Marietta area for the vast portion of his life. He taught "Spiritual Pathways" at the Wood County Library for a number of years and has bequeathed his knowledge on thousands of students over a period of almost 35 years. Reverend Hastings was awarded his Ph.d. for a lifetime of spiritual work by the International Metaphysical University only a week ago. Randy was a pioneer in the areas of Native American Shamanism, was a Reiki master (he taught Reiki for well over a decade,) a teacher of the martial arts for many years and was also an expert on our area's sacred Indian mounds. Services for Reverend Hastings were at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Randy’s good friend Reverend Ryan Harlan will officiate. On December 20th, Randy’s ashes will be spread at the Great Serpent Mound in Chillicothe, Ohio. Randy had assumed a role as "keeper of the gate" at that ancient sacred area and this will continue. Reverend Randy Hastings will be missed by all spiritual seekers who knew Randy through his tireless work and through family members and friends who loved him for who he was. The lights shine a little dimmer in the sky tonight. Randy will be greatly missed. Deborah Lindsey, President, International Metaphysical University.

Wayne Hardy

3/26/50 - 9/15/06

Wayne Hardy passed away in St. Paul, Mn. on Sept. 22, 2006.  He was 56 yr. old.  Wayne was active in metaphysical pursuits all his life and was an avid supporter of many metaphysical organizations including MUFON and the New Hope Metaphysical Society. Wayne was a musician and composer early in life, playing several instruments including the piano and drums and worked professionally as a musician for several rock bands.  Wayne had a brilliant mind and later, became a computer systems analyst, working for many corporations in his thirties and forties including a think tank for Bell Telephone in Princeton, NJ. He more recently specialized in Linux systems management and development and was working in this field when he died.
Wayne Hardy had many psychic gifts as well and studied channeling at Mind Matters in Washington's Crossing, Pa. in the mid 70's and developed into a very capable trance medium and psychic. He channeled several sources of information including 'Jordan', 'The Pleiadians' and 'Charles', an 18 th century country Englishman. He was also a very accurate psychic and, as "Keith Wayne", gave phone readings all over the world for many people. An avid proponent for holistic health, he studied various healing modalities and technologies including nutrition, energy medicine and hands on healing with Dr. John Ray. Wayne was like a brother to his friends and will be missed by many, especially by his long time friend and colleague, NHMS co-director, Amy Bortner-Gialuco.

George Katz

January 3, 1937 to November 5, 2005

George Katz died on Nov. 5, 2005.  He was 68 years old.  George was an enthusiastic supporter of metaphysics and belonged to many organizations, including The Life Center in Lambertville, NJ. , the Ascordia Center of Light in Phila. Pa. and the New Hope Metaphysical Society. He was a very capable teacher and offered many classes at the Life Center, specializing in hands on healing and understanding the energy systems of the body.  He also sponsored a healing and meditation circle at the Life Center and Pebble Hill Church for many years. Well known for his gruff exterior and dry wit, he was a solid fixture at many a group and often offered a grounded perspective and vast reserve of ancient and esoteric knowledge to those who enquired. Quite fascinated with ancient Egyptian history and metaphysics, he aptly represented the priestly lineage of those ancient times in is wisdom and erudition. A helping spirit to all in need, he will be greatly missed by many!

Edward C. Hager

July 1929 - January 2005

Ed Hager passed away in January, 2005 after a prolonged bout with cancer. He was 75 years old. Ed was a speaker with the New Hope Metaphysical Society for many years and had been scheduled to speak at an NHMS special event this Spring. He was a wonderful man, warm, sincere and gracious. He had two lives, one as an "everyman", a construction builder and family man and the other as a masterful metaphysical teacher, healer and channel. He channeled the "Teachers" for many years, holding classes and sessions in his home in York, Pa. He was also a "Walk-In", an advanced soul who entered Ed's life in his early fifties. Ed Hager was written about in Ruth Montgomery's book, "Threshold To Tomorrow" and had been very active with the metaphysical organization "W.E." (Walk-Ins for Evolution). Ed was 'larger than life', a big man with a generous heart and loving nature and will be greatly missed by all of us!     Ed Hager had many talents, one of which was writing.  He wrote many articles and poems.  His poetry can be found on the web at the website "Celebration of Oneness" .

Here is one of Ed's beautiful poems....

  Thoughts

Around us are people. Those we know either casually or well, individually or collectively
And you and I are alone.
In this crowd, our eyes meet And speak with thoughts that are private And to us our own.
And you and I own these thoughts To be spent like silver coins Of a child in a candy shop One by one Thoughtfully and with hope That the prize collected Will be better than the last
For when we do speak aloud, Our words are hollow With platitudes And everyday things
That echo from the crowds
Share these thoughts with me For with them come feelings
That someday We will do their bidding,
 Together

  Susan Elizabeth Steele
9/11/1950 - 12/16/2004

Suzanna Steele suddenly passed away on Thursday, December 16th, 2004. She had  just attended the New Hope Metaphysical Society's monthly meeting the day before and had just completed her Musical Tribute CD to "911".  Those who were at the meeting had the privilege of being the first to hear her c.d. during the opening of the meeting.  And, as always, Suzanna had actively participated in the meeting's activities, lending her music, warmth and sparkle to the evening's program. Suzanna will be remembered by all of us at the New Hope Metaphysical Society as a wise, witty and warmhearted individual who was a second mother and spiritual sister to many friends and family members.

Suzanna had a great heart but also a powerful mind and an astonishing array of talents.  Having earned an M.A. in Sociology and a Ph.D. in History, she taught history at several Ivy league colleges for many years.  Additionally, she was an early developer of artificial intelligence software programming for banks and other leading Fortune 1000 companies, including IBM, AT&T, and American Express and headed up her own company in the field of computer programming software.

Having been born with great psychic ability, she, later, developed into a master intuitive, having the ability to hear, see, and communicate with any one, in any dimension, on the other side. She was also a great healer, having studied and trained in Reiki, crystal healing and I.E.T. (Integrated Energy Therapy)  She was also a born counselor, lending her ear or heart to all who required her assistance.

And finally, and most poignantly, she had a beautiful, operatic voice which she often expressed at public and private gatherings.  Before her passing, she completed a musical tribute to all the brave human and spiritual beings who participated in the event of "911" as well as a poem about Christmas that is eerily prophetic!  A great, loving human being who touched and supported many, many hearts and inspired many, many minds, she will truly be missed by all of us!
